The worst is over

Sleeping peacefully before the surgery

You're STILL in the hospital. We're getting a bit impatient, but at least you're on the mend. They finally decided on minor surgery yesterday when the swelling wouldn't go down -- and when the redness actually increased. I put the emphasis on minor because it lasted all of half an hour and you came out of the anesthesia very quickly.

Quicky and GRUMPILY. You were not a happy camper afterward, but who would blame you. I can't imagine what the experience was like from your perspective. Pretty scary, no doubt. Strange people wheeling you away from us, putting a mask over your head and all that, then waking up to more strange people and beeping machines. I'd have cried too if I were you.

The best part is that you really do seem to be feeling better. You're getting very antsy in the room now, as opposed to the first couple of days where you sat quietly in the chair. Your appetite is back, but your picky-ness is also present. Although it IS hospital food, so that may explain some of it. You definitely take after me -- skip the meal, just hand over the dessert!

We've been told that you might possibly be discharged tomorrow. We'd love that. All three of us. I suspect that you might be wishing for home as much as Mommy and Daddy are. We can't wait to be back here together like we were just last Monday. Seems so long ago now. Fingers are crossed.
