Busy week

The week started with a visit from Kevin and Chloe last Sunday. They drove up from Kalamazoo to spend a few hours with us, culminating in a trip to the playground. It's not too far from our house, so we decided to walk there. You were snug in the stroller and Chloe hitched a ride on her dad's back. But at one point, she decided to trek along on her own steam. When you saw her sashay past the stroller, you demanded "OUT!" so you could walk with her. The cutest part of the whole day was when you got out, grabbed her hand, and dragged her along the sidewalk with you. She hestiated only for a moment before going along with you. So sweet!

On Thursday, we took you to your first official concert. We saw Koko Taylor and Shemekia Copeland at the Meijer Gardens. With Aunt Stacy and Rick. Complete with a delicious picnic and some fabulously summer weather to close out the evening. You loved it. After dining, you popped up and off you went for nearly three hours of running, exploring and dancing. There were many ladies who were interested in cutting the rug with you, but you played hard to get and danced only with Mommy and Daddy. You got quite a lot of attention for your antics. Who can resist a two-year-old with rhythm. You even got to stay up until 10:00 -- way past your bedtime. And, miraculously, you slept in until 8:00 the next morning. Woo hoo!

Yesterday we took you to the Multicultural Festival where you played games, won prizes, petted goats and bunnies, watched dancers and martial-arts performers, got a Scooby Doo tattoo, and sampled Chinese and Filipino food. It was a hot, hot day, but a fun one.
