Your first s'more and other good stuff

This past week was a fairly busy one. So I'm going to stick to just one event here and get to the rest as soon as I can.

Daddy's best friend Tim and his family came up from Florida last week. His parents live in Grand Haven and it's an easy drive for us. We arrived early afternoon on Friday and spent the rest of the day with them.

You were a bit shy for the first few minutes, but it never lasts long with this bunch. Soon you and Emily were chasing each other all around the yard. You loved playing with her. She's eight and you seem to have a thing for eight-year-olds (Exhibit 1: Trenton).

Daddy joined the guys for golfing and we stayed around with the girls. You explored the house and the backyard, and then we ended up down at the new firetpit that Pete built in the yard. You mooched a Gogurt off of Emily and sat and watched while they roasted hot dogs on the fire. And listened as Em complained about the level of charring. :)

After dinner the entire group hit the bonfire to roast marshmallows and listen to cheesy '70s music. It was a nice warm night and so fun to be running around outside. You played hide-n-seek with Aunt Amy and Emily, then you sat nicely on Daddy's lap and watched him roast some marshmallows. Mommy assembled your first s'more. After I handed it to you, just looked at it in awe for a second. But once you figured it out, you were in chocolate-marshmallow heaven!

We finally hit the road at 10:30 and you fell soundly asleep mere minutes after we left the driveway.
