We beat the heat
The past few days have been nice since we endured a week-long heatwave that wasn't much fun at all. It made it nearly impossible for us to spend any time outside. Even at daycare they kept you kiddos inside and you all got stir crazy. Luckily we did have the pool that Mommy scored at Target for just $7.99. Although the pool isn't as much of a draw as the hose. You loooovvveeee the hose. And you aren't at all shy about pointing it at people. Stinker.
You stayed with Grandma on Friday night. Fun for you. You always have a blast hanging out at her house. You were napping when we went to pick you up yesterday. And, of course, you woke up grumpy as could be. You perked up quite a bit when we stopped by to visit with Kevin and Lisa on our way back. You were thrilled to play with Chloe's microwave, sticking every object you could find inside of it. Including an innocent stuffed animal that Kevin advised you would be great to microwave. Hmmm.
After the visit we drove to Plainwell and grabbed a cone at Dean's Ice Cream. I loved stopping there when I was a kid, but I wasn't all that impressed with my chocolate-chip cone. Next time we'll try the Plainwell Ice Cream Co. I'm hoping that my memory on that one is a bit more sound.
You were being quite the little cut-up on the way home. You kept telling us that you were stealing our noses. "Take Daddy's nose!" Then you'd giggle while Daddy asked for his nose back. And you'd very nicely give it back, only to take it again. It got funnier as we drove along because soon you were taking Mommy's or Daddy's or Juliette's nose and throwing it out the window. "Daddy's nose out!" You did, however, get a bit testy with Mommy when I tried to take your nose this morning. Seems that you can dish out the taking of the noses, but you can't take the taking of the noses.
You're becoming very familiar with time-outs these days too. You're developing into a very stubborn little guy. But I'm sure it comes with the territory. Your cuteness is still very much in evidence, and I use that to bolster my confidence whenever you're flinging pineapple on the floor, launching a car across the room, or terrorizing Lucy. Toddlerhood is something we can certainly handle. I hope!
