Attack of the Tickle Monster and other fun stuff

My inability to post more than once a week makes it difficult to remember all that's happened during the past seven days, so I'm going to start with the weekend and go from there.

We woke up to a very rainy Saturday, even though we had plans to go to the farmer's market and the Eastown Street Fair. We went ahead and bundled ourselves into the car and hit the market since we knew they had some tarps for a bit of protection. Still, it wasn't all that much fun. And some poor guy got a flood of water dumped on his head when one of the tarps overflowed.

You didn't seem to mind being pushed around in the wetness. There's always so much going on there. We managed to snag on white pumpkin, but we'll save the rest for this coming weekend. You've been very happy to see the Halloween decorations emerge from storage this year. You have more of an understanding that an event is coming up. Although you won't stop playing with one of the pumpkins, even though I've explained that it's a DE-COR-A-TION, not a toy. Stubborn child!

After the market, we skipped the fair and went to the mall to run around and hang out in the toy store. Then we had lunch at Seoul Garden where you munched on crab cheese, eggrolls (ha! there are veggies in those, buddy!), chicken and rice.

When your nap was over, Daddy observed that the sun had come out and maybe it would be a nice enough trek to the fair anyway. So off we went. We walked through the booths, visited a few of the Eastown stores, grabbed some coffee and a bagel at Kava House, then wandered over to the stage to see who was playing. It was a local Irish rock band and you loved them. You danced around and were very happy to just stand and watch the band for quite a while. And...you met the Tickle Monster. :) A guy we know from the dog park. He made you laugh. Laughing is good.

Yesterday, Lisa and Alec came for a visit. And you and Alec hit it off famously! You've met on a few previous occasions, but now that you're old enough to hang out together, you're becoming pals. You're only a month apart in age and you like the same things...running around like crazy, laughing, and not listening to your mothers! It was a beautiful fall day and it was very nice to have company.

Today we were back into the school-work mode. You got to hang out on the Tumble Kids bus and paint some pictures with socks. You also had another of your big-bad bloody noses this morning. It freaks the poor teachers out. The last time it happened at Grandma's house and she was a bit worried too. You don't just trickle, you gush! Daddy had to run over to see if you were OK. The nurses keep telling us this is a normal occurence for some kids, but I always worry just a bit...being a mom and all. You're fine, though. By the time Daddy got there, you were already napping, and you were your normal fun self this afternoon.
