The night before Thanksgiving
Tomorrow we head to Grandma's for Thanksgiving. I still have to pack so this will be a rushed entry.
As you can see, we did some baking tonight. Actually, you and Daddy took Juliette to the park while I baked the pie, but you were excited to see my whisk and other tools on the counter when you returned. So you pulled up your stool and I gave you some flour and sugar. You proceed to make "happy birday cakes" for me, Daddy and Grandma. For Grandma's, you insisted on rice. Specifically the leftover chicken fried rice from last night's dinner at Yen Ching. I went ahead and gave you some, which you mashed up quite happily.
A quick story from last night. The elderly man who seated us asked if you were Korean. I said yes. He quickly went to get our waitress and pointed to us and said, "Look, Korean." They both seemed very taken with you. Lydia, our waitress, I think might also be Korean-American. She came back to the table while you and Daddy had gone to wash your hands and we were chatting when you returned. You were holding Daddy's hand and you gleefly announced, "I back now!" It was entirely adorable. You had all three of us laughing.
