Bits and pieces

We had our photo shoot with Amy Wenzel a week and a half ago and I still haven't gotten around to posting about it. You did such a great job! You were Mr. Evasive, in many ways, as you tend to be with my camera...but she managed to capture several great shots. Even some of you looking right at her.

I'm excited about the selection, but also torn about which ones to choose. Sigh.

I really love to watch you relate to other people. You took to Amy right away and were very excited to show her your Thomas caboose that you got for your birthday. You sometimes hang back with people and situations, but you usually warm up pretty quickly.

Like last night when Pearson's dad asked if you wanted to see their trampoline. You smiled and hid behind my legs, but you were eager to take a peek. You were adamant, though, that you weren't going to get on the thing. Even after watching Pete bounce both Pearson and Luke around. Luke was giggling happily. But it took you several minutes before you turned to me and said you were ready. I was happy to give you your time to get comfortable. And you were so thrilled to bounce around. You were giggling almost as much as Luke.

You warm up even faster with kids, though. You ran into the play area at the gym without hesitation the first time we visited. No hanging back there. And you always ask me when we're going again (Fridays, usually).

So it doesn't surprise me that you have a best buddy at school. Aidan. You talk about him all the time. You'll also bring up Zachary, Caeden, Meredith and Reese. But Aidan is always the first name you mention. We were talking about bike trailers tonight and you said you wanted Aidan to ride with you in yours. It's so sweet how well you two get along. You even get excited when you see his mom. "Aidan's mommy!" Adorable.

Beyond talk of Aidan, the most exciting thing for you lately was your discovery of Peeps (courtesy of Mommy, of course). You were crazy about those sugar-covered bunnies. You went so far as to lick the sugar off of your placemat when you finished. You very much take after me in that department.

Another cute saying from tonight...I asked you, "Who's the cutest Daddy in the world?" Without hesitating or even glancing in his direction, you said, "That daddy standing right behind me." You are just so funny.
