Three kids and a lake

We had a great weekend. It was the third annual Baby Reunion. I know I should post pics of that, but I loved this series that I took of you and Daddy at Collins Park tonight. So it wins the prize for now. (I do have my fave reunion photos up here.)
You had such a wonderful time at the lake with your friends. Every year you've gotten braver with the water. Last year you did fine until you tripped over the anchor on the boat and hurt your foot. That was the end of the splashing for you. This time around there were no such incidents and you stayed in the lake for hours. So many smiles and giggles from you.
What I love most about it all is seeing you and Caleb and Emma growing up and beginning to discover each other as little people. You splashed and chased Emma in the lake during the afternoon, then the three of you shared a huge bowl of popcorn together in the cottage. (Actually, you little stinkers hogged it and the older kids had to keep microwaving new batches just to keep up.)
None of you really understand your shared bond yet. The fact that you spent several months together in the orphanage, or that you flew side by side on the plane to come home to your new families. You're just beginning to get your heads around the concept of Korea and birth mommies and adoption. But having those two in such close proximity, and having these get-togethers each year, is so special. I hope you three will grow to be friends.
And I have to be sure to sneak in the sassy comment that you made to me the other day. It made me laugh.
We were walking through the mall, on our way to Pooh's Corner. You were carrying a bag with your coveted Lightning McQueen bubble bath inside. You were also lagging quite a bit, stopping to point to this and that. Making all sorts of observations. Pretty much every time I turned around to walk toward our destination, I'd have to stop and wait for you to catch up.
One time I turned slightly and said, "Dev, are you coming with me or not?"
Your response: "You see me walking, don't you?"
Mr. Sass!
(I should add that it was your idea to have me take the above photo. "Please you take a picture of me with Daddy." Which may explain why you were so cooperative!)
