It takes a lot to tucker you out

Busy week.
I feel like it flew by. They all seem to. And with each one, you're growing up bigger and faster.
So what went on?
Well, there was one evening of shopping on Wednesday where we ended up home late and in bed even later.
Friday was a blur. First your best bud's 3rd-birthday festivities at Ada Park. Plenty of running around, consuming of sugar, and Spiderman celebrations. You were happy to see him and gobble down some cake.
Then we returned home in the afternoon and were greeted by the UPS man with a package from Patrick. Your first camera. And a very nice one at that. You were very excited and have already asked to use it several times. You've even snapped some self portraits, which you seemed to know just how to do (I'd guess Mommy has been taking a few too many).
That evening we visited with R and H, my friend Patti's kiddos. It was supposed to be a pool party, but you refused to get into the pool. You enjoyed playing with their toys and running excitedly around the house. You also enjoyed Patti's fabulous PB&J with homemade blackberry jam (we nabbed a jar of our own too).
Saturday, you, Daddy and Mommy went to the movies together. Complete with a huge bag of popcorn and a big cup of fruit punch. You sat in your own chair, between us, unlike the last time when you sat on my lap during the entire flick. We saw "Ratatouille" this time and you gave it two thumbs up.
After the cinema, we drove up to Rockford and hung out for a couple of hours at the Celtic Festival. You saw some great bands, heard bagpipes for the first time, dined on a Corner Bar dog, devoured a blue moon cone, and walked along the river. And refused to sleep in the car ride home, stubbornly staying up 'til 10:30. Dang ya!
You capped it all off with a trip with Daddy to the pool at our gym. You spent more than an hour splashing around and came home smelling like chlorine. You proceeded to fall asleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed at 8:02 tonight as I read to you from the Children's Encyclopedia, although you were kind enough to stay awake until after I read the entry on Korea.
