Rainy ruminations

It's been raining for the past few days. We need it. Such a hot, dry summer. Tonight, as we took one of our regular drives around the lake (Reeds Lake), you announced, "Next time, I want to drive around the lake when it isn't raining."

"Well," I said, "I know it's a bit gloomy, but we really needed the rain."

You thought for a moment. "What if it never stops raining?"

"That would be interesting, honey. What would we do if it never stopped raining?"

"I would take my sled and ride it through the puddles."

We drove some more and then: "I like the rain, Mommy."

"Me too, sweetie. Rain is nice."

"I just don't like it when it storms and the thunder and the lightning. It scary."

"Yes, it's loud, but you know it won't hurt you, right?"

"The thunder sounds like BEARS!"

"Bears?"

"Yeah! It sounds like bears walking in the sky."
