Vroom vroom!

Yesterday we attended the International Auto Show in downtown GR. You were geeked! We went along with my Flickr pals Terry and Tommy, checking out all of the chrome and shiny paint jobs. You were in Devin Heaven.
You climbed in nearly every car on the floor. You got such a kick out of getting in the driver's seat and checking out the cupholders and buttons. I was trying to snap some decent photos, but I was a bit paranoid about taking my eyes off of you. I think it's every parent's deepest fear to lose a kid in a crowded venue. Now I can almost see why they created those kid leashes I've always scorned.
Today the only highlight was a trip to Target to pick out Valentine's Day cards for your friends. It took you 10 minutes to decide. Gah! And then you pestered me through the rest of the shopping about buying you something. You always think you need to have something when we got to a store. Even when I've repeatedly told you that, no, we are not getting any new toys. You just got a ton for Christmas and your birthday is coming up fast. Plus, as it is with every kid, there are so many toys in this house that you never seem to touch. So more? Ha!
I do love buying you books, though. I couldn't resist saying yes the other day during the Pooh's Corner sidewalk sale. Especially when the one you picked was only $1.99! Curious George. You've been loving him lately. You have three of his books and you made me read all of them the other night. You went through about six weeks of being obsessed with the book Aunt Nancy got you for Christmas...Disney Bedtime Favorites. So it was kind of relief to break out something different for a change.
As for music, we just bought a new CD today. Mary Poppins! I joined NetFlix and put the movie in our queue. It arrived yesterday and you've already watched it twice. I figured some classic Mary Poppins tunes would be a nice addition to your collection. You've been hooked on Laurie Berkner lately, but you've already informed me that you want Mary Poppins in your CD player tonight.
