Life with a 4-year-old

Well, the party was a success. You had a great time with your friends and you now have plenty of Lightning McQueen merchandise to amuse yourself with. As well as a nifty remote-controlled monster truck that came in the mail from Tim, Colleen and Rose yesterday. Totally awesome!
Your birthday stash also included some new stuffed pals...Krypto and Bat Hound. It's one of your new favorite things to watch those cartoons with Daddy. You spent nearly a week carrying them around the house and insisting that they go everywhere with you.
And now that we've emerged from the deep freeze, you've been able to get a few rides in on your new bike. The snow is finally melted from the sidewalks, and the sun's been shining so nicely the past few days.
Yesterday we crossed the street to check out the construction site at the hospital. They started the demolition back in January and it's been so chilly that we haven't had a chance to spend much time watching the diggers and trucks. You were transfixed by the action and even did a little happy dance when one of the double dump trucks pulled out of the site and drove past us. How cool!
The only negative this week has been the ongoing struggle with your behavior at daycare. You've had some really good days, but you also know how to have a really bad day. Thursday was one of those. You painted on your teacher's back and ended up in the office a couple of times for hitting and screaming. I was pretty disappointed and we had to put the super dogs away for the evening as punishment. But I talked to the director yesterday and she feels pretty confident that you're just testing the limits in your new classroom and that we can work through this.
Hey, no one's perfect, right?
(But Mommy tends to think you're pretty darn close!)
