Easter weekend fun

Our quick trip to Chicago this weekend turned into a longer one when Daddy suggested we extend our stay so we could have at least one day of good weather. Friday's snow kind of jammed things up a bit, although we spent a few hours at the Museum of Science and Industry and were none the wiser about the slushy streets until mid-afternoon.
You loved the hotel, of course. You always do. Especially the ones with bolster pillows! Although our skyline view was really a view of the rooftop next door. We got a king bed and all piled in together the first night. But you had ants in your pants and were all over the place. Mommy and Daddy got very little sleep. And I don't think you got much either!
The next morning we walked ALL THE WAY to Navy Pier. This was a real feat because of the still-slushy sidewalks and your early pronouncements that you DID NOT want to go to the museum. The walk took the fun out of it for you, I presume. Once we reached the Grand Ave. tunnel, though, you started to have some fun and ran with Daddy along the lakefront path.
The children's museum ended up being much more exciting that you'd guessed it would be. You loved climbing in the ambulance and calling 911. Then you got upstairs to the Skyline exhibit and you were fascinated by all of the tools and building paraphernalia. You don't show all that much interest in your blocks here at home. Cars and trucks are normally your thing. But you were totally into the nuts, bolts and washers. It's really too bad that Grandpa Louie wasn't there to help you actually build something cool. We parents are hopeless in that area!
You went without a nap yet again on Saturday, even though we plied you with Scooby Doo cartoons in hopes that you would relax and drift off. So we headed out for another walk to the Hancock, thinking we'd go up there for a cool view. Until we saw the line, that was. We rode the escalators at the Water Tower instead, with you instructing us to, "Please put both of your feet on this step." You gazed down from the 7th floor happily enough and got a chance to ride in the glass elevator.
Then you and Daddy headed out for dinner at Red Fish while Mommy stayed in the room nursing my sore tush (from the trolley incident) and enjoying pasta and wine from room service. You dropped off to sleep nicely and actually stayed mostly in one place that night (thank you!), even sleeping in a bit.
In the morning, we grabbed some breakfast before heading back to Grandma's for Easter. There you found your two Easter baskets, hunted for jelly beans, and fell in love with your new paper-airplane kit. We even made a few yesterday and ran outside to fly them. It was great to stand out in the still-snowy yard, whipping planes around in the breeze. That is, until one landed on Maria's roof and you freaked. (You did get it back a while later when I looked outside and saw that it had dislodged and landed back in our yard.)
